Transformation Leader. Strategic Partner. Problem Solver.
Design element

Michelle Straughn has spent more than 27 years helping state, local, federal, non-profit, and educational organizations navigate change, solve complex problems, and turn ambitious goals into practical results.

As Senior Vice President at Jefferson Solutions Group, Michelle leads programs across the federal civilian market, with a focus on implementing practical automations to drive efficiency in offices supporting national initiatives. She provides strategic leadership across more than 25 programs and projects, primarily supporting the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Transportation, and the Interior.

Michelle brings deep expertise in business workflow automation, organizational transformation, acquisition, business process reengineering, organizational assessment and redesign, strategic planning, human capital, and operations. She also plays a key role in account management, business development, capture, and growth, working closely with customers and teams to develop solutions around their most critical needs.

Before joining Jefferson, Michelle served as a Chief Operating Officer, founded and led a woman-owned small business, and held senior leadership roles at large government contractors. She holds a BA from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Management with a specialty in finance from the Maryland School of Public Affairs.

Outside of work, the Maryland native spends time with her family and friends, loves travel, nature, anything ocean and beach related, and her English Bulldogs, whose names all begin with “Z.”

For Michelle, meaningful transformation starts with understanding the challenge, bringing the right people together, and turning strategy into action.
